Next Match: away to Borussia Dortmund, May 09

Karlsruhe coach Edmund Becker was disappointed that his side's win over Leverkusen was not followed up with a further three points against Energie Cottbus last weekend. After winning 1-0 away to a side still in the hunt for a place in Europe next season, Becker had expected a better showing against a side who, like his, is still fighting to avoid relegation, but that was not the case. "I had hoped my team would have been more relaxed and self-confident after the win in Leverkusen, but we were very sluggish and our play was very complicated," he said. "Cottbus defended en masse, but we were too slow. Overall, a point is too little for our situation." Karlsruhe must now pick up three points at Dortmund this weekend to maintain any hopes it has of avoiding relegation.
