Robert Enke celebrated his comeback to the Hannover goal, keeping a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Cologne last Saturday. And now the club is preparing to open contract talks with its captain in a bid to secure his services beyond the end of the season. "We will hold the first round of negotiations in November," said Hannover director of sport Jorg Schmadtke. The 32-year-old goalkeeper would be free to find himself a new club in the summer when his contract expires, and there would be no lack of takers for the man strongly tipped to be Germany's goalkeeper at the World Cup next summer. However, he has always remained faithful to Hannover and the club will be hoping his affinity for the club will convince him to put pen to paper on a new deal.
