Hertha Berlin coach Friedhelm Funkel was coy about his trip to Greece last weekend. Funkel and Berlin's general manager Michael Preetz were both present at Greece's World Cup qualifier against the Ukraine, but while denying he was there to cast a glance at striker Theofanis Gekas, he admitted another player had caught the eye. "I was not there for him (Gekas) and I don't want to mention any names to get other clubs interested," he told the Bild newspaper. "But I can say this much: The defensive work impressed me a lot and it's possible that we fetch somebody who has not yet any Bundesliga experience."
