Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 13
To stay ahead of other teams in your fantasy basketball leagues, it is important to scour the waiver wire and free agent pool to pick up players that will help your team succeed in the present and future. Here's a look at five players owned in less than 50% of Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Basketball leagues* who are worth adding in Week 13.
Statistics (per game averages)*: 23:06 MPG, .407 FG%, .824 FT%, 1.1 3PTM, 10.5 PTS, 2.1 REB, 3.9 AST, 1.2 ST, 0.1 BLK, 1.4 TO
With Stephen Curry's status for the rest of the season in question, Robinson will have a great chance to start for the rest of the season. A streaky shooter and a shoot-first point guard, Robinson should be owned in more leagues for his ability to score in a hurry and also contribute from behind the arc and with steals.
Statistics: 23:47 MPG, .426 FG%, .852 FT%, 1.4 3PTM, 12.0 PTS, 2.2 REB, 3.9 AST, 0.8 ST, 0.1 BLK, 1.8 TO
In his most recent stretch of games as starter for the injured Jose Calderon, Bayless played incredibly well averaging 21.8 points, 7.6 assists, and 1.8 steals a game. Even in Bayless' first game back on the bench, he still put up useful numbers in fewer minutes against the New York Knicks with seven points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals. A great scoring guard with an ability to contribute in other areas, Bayless is a great addition even when he does not start.
Statistics: 24:45 MPG, .523 FG%, .574 FT%, 0.0 3PTM, 8.5 PTS, 6.7 REB, 1.2 AST, 0.5 ST, 0.5 BLK, 1.1 TO
From his back-to-back 21-point and 15-rebound games to four-straight double-double games, Thompson is proving himself to be an efficient shooter and great rebounder. Now that J.J. Hickson is officially out of town, there is no real competition for minutes for Thompson, meaning he will not have to worry about an inconsistent number of minutes that hurt his fantasy status earlier in the season.
Statistics: 20:07 MPG, .500 FG%, .624 FT%, 0.0 3PTM, 8.5 PTS, 5.8 REB, 0.6 AST, 0.6 ST, 0.9 BLK, 1.6 TO
In his first two starts of March in place of Al Jefferson, Favors had a chance to showcase the potential that made him the No. 3 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. A decent scorer, above-average rebounder, and solid shot blocker, Favors is a useful addition as a No. 3 fantasy center for providing support in these big man categories.
Statistics: 21:22 MPG, .437 FG%, .854 FT%, 0.8 3PTM, 9.2 PTS, 2.9 REB, 2.6 AST, 1.2 ST, 0.6 BLK, 1.3 TO
Now that playing time is no longer a concern for the third-year guard, Beaubois is able to provide reliable fantasy numbers for owners. Averaging 15 points, five rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.6 steals over his last five games, Beaubois' value also has the chance to increase if veterans Jason Kidd or Vince Carter happen to miss more time later in the season.
Other Week 13 waiver wire adds of interest: Milwaukee Bucks SG/SF Mike Dunleavy (41%), Cleveland Cavaliers SG/SF Alonzo Gee (40%), Atlanta Hawks C Zaza Pachulia (33%), New York Knicks SF/PF Steve Novak (25%), Houston Rockets SG/SF Courtney Lee (12%)
*Percentage owned numbers for Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Basketball leagues and player statistics accurate as of Mar. 20, 2012. MPG: Minutes Per Game, FG%: Field Goal Percentage, FT%: Free Throw Percentage, 3PTM: 3-Pointers Made, PTS: Points, REB: Rebounds, AST: Assists, ST: Steals, BLK: Blocks, TO: Turnovers.
