Reigning Vanier Cup champion Laval Rouge et Or remain No. 1 in CIS rankings
OTTAWA - The Laval Rouge et Or remained in top spot in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport football rankings while Calgary moved up one position to second overall.
Laval received 52 of the 55 first-place votes and 1,736 points on the list, released Tuesday by the CIS. Laval defeated Sherbrooke 22-5 last Saturday while Calgary beat Regina 47-29.
Saskatchewan dumped Alberta 39-3 to remain in third spot while Queen's fell two positions to No. 4 after a 25-13 loss at Laurier.
Western moved up one spot to No. 5 after crushing Toronto 47-0.
Saint Mary's, Ottawa, Laurier, Montreal and McMaster rounded out the top 10.
