I think everyone should be congratulating Chris Chase; he finally wrote an article people can get through. I'll go so far as to say I enjoyed it...

good for them..marriage has gotten such a bad rap lately everyone concentrates on the 50% that dont make it but waht about the 50% that do??
      • morgino 3 months ago
40% of them are miserable and can't leave because of kids. Well at least the men are because they tell me
      • unicornsandgummiebears 3 months ago
50% of that 50% get divorced once the kids are out of the house...
      • La Dee Dah 3 months ago
if you search for it on youtube, you will find that the divorce rate was 50% among baby boomers and 16% among generation Xers. High divorce was a generational thing. Generation X is staying married past the critical 5 year mark and has been for some time.

This is so beautiful! To see two people so in love, and for this young man to go to this length to make it special, is heartwarming:) Let's see more stories like this, less of the drama and calling people out on their misfortunes:( Best wishes to them in their careers and their 'happily ever after'.

Its not queer when your gaydar tingles like spidey-sense, its actually extremely hetero

Meh, il take my chances with marriage.

From what I have seen, to have a successful marriage as a guy you must do several things
      1. Be a gentleman- open all doors (car doors included), stand when a woman enters the room (yes even your girlfriends annoying grandma), don't make others feel uncomfortable around you. (Be humble, don't show off)
      2. Do something nice for her; randomly. (Sure buying her nice birthday presents is cool, but giving random gifts spontaneously will remind her that you still love her and you appreciate her for who she is.)
      3. Be a good Lover. No 12" required, all you need is to find out what turns her on and be sure to exploit her "weaknesses". Make random advances on her once married, and don't become boring because "your married". (SCREW THAT. If I become boring once I get married I swear to god I will shoot myself)
      4. Make sure the woman your with loves you for who you are. Its fine if a woman scolds you because your being a slob, but you should never have to change your personality. If a girl is embarrassed to have to hang around her friends, or she forces you to act a certain way when meeting strangers; its a sign that the relationship won't work.
      5. Take family ties seriously. Don't be "that guy" who everyone in the family talks about negatively behind your back. Try to be involved with the in-laws, and try to become friends with the siblings of your wife. (After all, you just gained a lot of new family members!)
      6. Write down these tips. Hell, even I would probably forget about these tips if I didn't write them down!
I know it might sound lame, but i created a journal just for myself, which includes self tips on how to keep my partner/wife happy throughout life. So long as I have such a keepsake to remind me of my vows, I hope that I become a great husband (:
