Olympic flame goes out on whitewater rafting course (VIDEO)

The Olympic torch was snuffed as it traveled on a whitewater rafting course in Waltham Cross over the weekend. Despite the best efforts of 20-year-old junior canoeist Alex Franklin, the flame couldn't withstand the basic principles of science and went out when water hit it.

Not to worry, though; the Olympic flame always travels with multiple backups, housed in covered lanterns that are nowhere near H20.

    Thanks, Deadspin
