Updated wagering odds for Devils-Kings, Conn Smythe winner, prop bets

It's been 48 days since the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs began and now we're two days away from the start of the Final between the Los Angeles Kings and New Jersey Devils.

As they've been doing all season, our friends at Bovada have released updated betting odds and prop bets for the Final. The Kings open up as the favorite (-170) with the Devils starting at +150.

How do you think the series will go? Will the Kings roll through another opponent? Or will the Devils take the Cup with another long series? Here are the odds for all eight possibilities:

Los Angeles Kings 4-0 - 7/1
Los Angeles Kings 4-1 - 9/2
Los Angeles Kings 4-2 - 3/1
Los Angeles Kings 4-3 - 5/1

New Jersey Devils 4-0 - 14/1
New Jersey Devils 4-1 - 7/1
New Jersey Devils 4-2 - 7/1
New Jersey Devils 4-3 - 5/1

After the jump, your updated Conn Smythe Trophy odds.

No surprise as Jonathan Quick and Dustin Brown are your top two favorite for playoff MVP:

Jonathan Quick (LA) 11/10
Dustin Brown (LA) 4/1
Martin Brodeur (NJ) 4/1
Ilya Kovalchuk (NJ) 11/2
Anze Kopitar (LA) 10/1
Drew Doughty (LA) 12/1
Zach Parise (NJ) 12/1
Mike Richards (LA) 25/1
Travis Zajac (NJ) 25/1
Dustin Penner (LA) 50/1
David Clarkson (NJ) 30/1

Before the playoffs began, you could have gotten Kovalchuk and Kopitar at 45/1, Quick and Brodeur at 50/1 and Parise at 65/1, per Bovada. Is there anyone not listed you might see making a run at the Smythe?

Now we get to some of the fun prop bets:

Will a goaltender win the Conn Smythe Trophy?
YES -210
NO +170

A netminder has taken the award 15 times since 1965, including Tim Thomas last year.

Will a player from the losing team be awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy?
YES 15/1

Only five times in its history has a losing player been awarded the Smythe, with the last being Jean-Sebastien Giguere in 2003. At the moment, this is a real possibility of happenig, but we still have plenty of hockey to play and figure that out.

Will there be a 5 minute fighting major penalty called during the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals?
YES -250
NO +195

Total games in the series
OVER/UNDER 5.5

Total goals in the series
OVER/UNDER 28.5

How many games will go to overtime?
OVER/UNDER 1.5

Will there be a suspension?
YES +300
NO -500

How many shorthanded goals will the Kings score in the series?
OVER/UNDER 0.5

Since the Kings (five SHGs) are involved here there's no doubt we'd play the over on that one.
