In their game at the Boston Bruins on Saturday night, the Toronto Maple Leafs had a first-period power play. Winger Joffrey Lupul snapped a shot that Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask fought off.

The puck rolled to Rask’s right, where Peter Holland corralled it.

He saw an open net. He saw Rask all the way over to other side of the crease. Visions of red goal lights were likely dancing in his head.

But this is Tuukka Rask we’re talking about here. You didn’t think it was going to be that easy, did you?

Rask lunged to his right, diving onto his stomach and twisting his body while extending the glove on his left hand. He snagged the puck, preventing the goal and sending the home fans into hysterics.

Rask would make 27 saves on the night and the Bruins defeated the Maple Leafs, 3-2, thanks to one of the most careless plays in the defensive zone that you’ll see this season:

What would be an unassisted game-winner from Brad Marchand with less than a minute before overtime. Ouch.
