Robert Bortuzzo drills Jaromir Jagr; worthy of supplemental discipline? (Video)

During Tuesday’s Pittsburgh Penguins-New Jersey Devils game, Robert Bortuzzo and Jaromir Jagr were going at it for most of the first two periods. Toward the end of the second, the Penguins defenseman had his chance to lay a lick on the Devils forward, and did so, but not without possible consequences:

Bortuzzo was not penalized on the play. Jagr left the game and did not return. The Devils went down three forwards for the final period, with Stephen Gionta and Patrik Elias also leaving earlier in the game. The Penguins would hold on for a 1-0 victory.

Bortuzzo’s hit was a bit late and also gets Jagr up high, with what looks like shoulder contact to the head. Suspendable? Probably not. Fineable? Most likely.

Said Devils head coach Peter DeBoer afterward, via Sean Gentille"If one of our guys had done that Crosby, it'd have been World War IV."

There's been no update on Jagr's status just yet.

UPDATE: The Department of Player Safety would like to speak with Mr. Bortuzzo:
