Olympic Hockey Hugs: Czech sneering, Teemu in the bronze age

Hockey Hugs is a feature that celebrates the best in hugging from around the sport of hockey, because who doesn't love a good hug now and then? Have you seen a particularly good hug photo lately? Send it to puckdaddyblog@yahoo.com or Tweet it to @HarrisonMooney.

It's time to say goodbye to the Sochi Olympic hockey tournament.

There are things I won't miss: the early mornings. The constant questions about what was wrong with Sidney Crosby. Latvia.

But there's plenty we will miss. Canada vs. the USA, which never gets old. Teemu Selanne. And the new and interesting player combinations, both on the ice and in the hug.

For example, when are we next going to get to see Martin St. Louis hugging Carey Price? Likely never again. Back in the NHL, these guys are foes whose jobs are to bring shame to one another. But you'd never know it from that hug up there. They look like they just found one another after being lost in the forest for a day and a half.

And that's not even one of the top six hugs of the second week of Olympic action.

No. 6: Team Czech Republic (men)

Tomas Kaberle and David Krejci sneer at the opposition.

"Oh my god, David, look at her butt. It is so big. She looks like one of those rap guys' girlfriends."

"Who understands those rap guys?"

*Jaromir Jagr, arriving on the scene: "I LIKE BIG..."

No. 5, Team Slovakia (men)

Tomas Surovy panics as gravity suddenly stops applying to him.

"Milan! Help! I am falling up!"

"Tomas noooooo I've got yooooou"

No. 4, Team Canada (men)

Shea Weber and Drew Doughty celebrate being Canada's top forwards, despite being defencemen.

"We are so awesome, Shea.

"So awesome."

"Whoa."

"Whoa."

No. 3, Team Switzerland (women)

The Swiss women celebrate a surprise bronze.

"All things considered, that's basically gold!"

No. 2, Team Slovenia (men)

Rok Ticar climbs Slovenian goaltender Robert Kristan.

"The Austrians are coming! Anze said I need to make myself big! Get on my shoulders!"

"Of course, Robert! I'm on my way! Let no one say Slovenia doesn't know hockey!"

"Quickly!"

No. 1, Team Finland (men)

Finally, nothing tops Teemu Selanne's pure elation at Finland's bronze medal. I love this photo of him celebrating with Tuomo Ruutu.

"It is the bronze age once again, like when I began my hockey career."

"Wait, how old are you?

"I AM ETERNAL."
