Niklas Kronwall to be sidelined 1-3 weeks with knee sprain
As the Detroit Red Wings continue to fight to keep their 24-season playoff streak intact, they’ll do so without the service of Niklas Kronwall for a bit.
Red Wings GM Ken Holland announced on Sunday that Kronwall will miss the next 1-3 weeks after an MRI revealed a sprained knee. The injury occurred during Saturday afternoon’s game against the New York Rangers when the 35-year-old defenseman got his left leg tangled under some bodies in front of the Detroit crease.

Kronwall leads all Red Wings skaters in time on-ice with 22:27 per game. He returned on Feb. 23 after missing 15 games following arthroscopic surgery on his other knee as Holland wouldn't specify which one was which.
