NHL Three Stars: Sharknado of offense versus Predators

NHL Three Stars: Sharknado of offense versus Predators

No. 1 Star: Logan Couture, San Jose Sharks

With his goal and two assists against the Nashville Predators, Couture set a Sharks franchise series record at 11 points.

No. 2 Star: Joe Thornton, San Jose Sharks

Jumbo Joe picked up a power play goal and an an assist, and led all forwards in ice time at 17:04.

No. 3 Star: Martin Jones, San Jose Sharks

This might have been Jones's easiest game of the playoffs thus far. He faced only 20 shots, and stopped all of them. His biggest test came in the third period when Nashville put 12 shots on goal. It was too little too late as the Sharks won 5-0.

Honorable Mention: Patrick Marleau and Marc-Edouard Vlasic earned 2 points each in the victory. Joe Pavelski scored his ninth goal of the playoffs. Positive for Nashville: they out hit the Sharks 46-31.

Did You Know? It took the Predators around 50 minutes to register their tenth (10th!!) shot on goal.

Dishonorable Mention: Roman Josi and Shea Weber were both minus-3. Pekka Rinne was not happy after allowing 5 goals on 26 shots, and being pulled for Carter Hutton. Hutton faced 1 shot in 16:06.
