NHL Three Stars: Rangers clinch; Panthers set franchise record

No. 1 Star: Alex Carpenter, Team USA

Calling an audible for the best hockey game of the night. With 7:30 left in overtime between the United States and Canada at the Women's World Championship gold medal game, Carpenter - who could not score a goal in the tournament to save her life - pounced on a rebound and gave the US the win on Canada's home turf.

No. 2 Star: Rocco Grimaldi, Florida Panthers

Grimadi scored two straight goals in the Panthers 4-3 over the Toronto Maple Leafs. The win is the 700th in franchise history.

No. 3 Star: Chris Kreider, New York Rangers

The Rangers beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-2 to secure their spot in the postseason. Kreider had an assist and this funky goal, his 20th of the season, in the win.

Honorable Mention: The Vancouver Canucks came back from a 2-1 deficit to win 3-2 against the Los Angeles Kings. Ryan Miller made 40 saves ... John Tavares scored a power play goal and 2 assists in the New York Islanders 5-2 handling of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tavares's goal was No. 30 on the year. Thomas Greiss earned his 22nd win of the season with 32 saves. Matt Carle assisted on both Tampa goals ... Henrik Lundqvist made 27 saves for his 34th win. Nick Foligno scored both goals for Columbus ... T.J. Brennan scored his first NHL goal since April 11, 2013 on Monday night. Colin Greening netted the other 2 goals for the Leafs ... The Arizona Coyotes went up 2-0 after the first, and the St. Louis Blues proceeded to score 5 straight goals. St. Louis's power play was 2-for-6 against the Coyotes. Kyle Brodziak netted two goals for the Blues. Vladimir Tarasenko netted goal No. 37 unassisted.

Dishonorable Mention: Ben Bishop was pulled after allowing 5 goals on 23 shots in 44:28. Calvin de Haan blocked a shot early in the first period and struggled to get off the ice. He did not return ... Scott Hartnell was healthy scratched. Cody Goloubef left the game after 42 seconds with an oblique injury. Ryan McDonagh blocked a shot with his hand on the penalty kill late in the first period, and did not complete the game. Per Alain Vigneault, he'll be evaluated on Tuesday.
