NHL Three Stars: Perreault gets offensive against Columbus; Giroux keeps Philly hot with winner

No. 1 Star: Mathieu Perreault, Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg forward scored one goal and added three assists in the Jets’ 6-4 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Jets have won their last three games at home. Perreault has 23 points in 29 games and nine points in his last seven.

No. 2 Star: Claude Giroux, Philadelphia Flyers

The Philly captain scored a pretty game-winner – his 11th goal of the season to propel the Flyers to a 4-2 road win at the St. Louis Blues. Giroux also added two assists. The Flyers have gone 5-1-1 in their last seven games to improve to 12-11-6 on the season.

No. 3 Star: Sean Monahan, Calgary Flames

Monahan helped the Flames withstand a Rasmus Ristolainen third period hat trick to lead the Flames to a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Monahan has been red hot the last four games with seven points. In that stretch Calgary has gone 4-0-0.

Honorable Mention: Tampa Bay Lightning forward Valtteri Filppula scored one goal a 2-0 shutout win over the Ottawa Senators. Teammate Nikita Kucherov scored two goals and captain Steven Stamkos picked up an assist … Tampa forward Ryan Callahen picked up two assists … Nashville Predators forward James Neal scored his team-leading 11th and 12th goals of the season in a 5-1win over the Chicago Blackhawks … Nashville forward Filip Forsberg notched his sixth goal of the year … Hawks forward Patrick Kane kept his point streak alive at 24 straight games with a goal… Montreal Canadiens forward Tomas Fleischmann scored a goal as did teammate Sven Andrighetto in a 3-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings … Darren Helm scored his second and third goals of the season for Detroit. Teammate Justin Abdelkader scored a goal … Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr scored his 731st NHL goal of his career to tie him with Marcel Dionne for fourth all-time. Teammate Jonathan Huberdeau notched two assists. Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad scored a goal and was a plus-2 … Columbus Blue Jackets winger Alexander Wennberg picked up three assists in a 6-4 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
