On Monday, the New York Rangers gave Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr a salute during a stoppage in the first period of their game. Jagr was a former Rangers captain who owns the franchise record for points (123) and goals (54) in a single season. He played 277 games for the Rangers over four years – the second-most games he’s played for one team in his long, illustrious career.

During the video Jagr acknowledged the crowd, which gave him an ovation.

Jagr left the Rangers after the 2007-08 season to play for Omsk in the KHL for three seasons. He leads Florida this season with 24 goals and 55 points.

He’s moved into third-place on the NHL’s points list and goal scoring list this season. Jagr is a pending unrestricted free agent has said he wants to play again next season.
