Jersey Fouls: Say yes to Caps dress; NHL Winter Classic fouls

Jersey Fouls is our ongoing exploration of the rules and etiquette for proper hockey jersey creation and exhibition. If you spot what you think may be a foul in your arena, email a photo to us at puckdaddyblog@yahoo.com for inclusion in future installment.

We've featured NHL jersey dresses before on Puck Daddy, including a Florida Panthers gown that was worn to prom.

This Washington Capitals dress was spotted by the Caps boards on Reddit.

If you're going to honor the goaltending prowess of Braden Holtby, we can think of no better way of doing so. Although please watch those laces when going through the turnstiles; a wardrobe malfunction as you enter the arena sorta ruins the night. For her, we mean.

Also, we also respect any Jersey Fouls ensemble that includes boots that could kill a man where he stands.

Coming up, Jersey Fouls from the Garden State to the frozen Big House.

And here ... we ... go.

The Winter Classic was a breeding ground for Fouls, what with over 105,000 fans at The Big House. Hockey Broad spotted this one: "McCabe taped over for Liles. Liles crossed out, Holland underneath."

Given that the John-Michael Liles deal went down as this dude was walking to the stadium, that's timely right there.

Crystal brings us this Toronto Maple Leafs foul on a Winter Classic sweater, as a Dave Bolland jersey comes up just short.

Hey, if there's one thing Leafs fans are familiar with, it's taking an 'L'.

We've seen similar jerseys for Ted Leonsis and even Lou Lamoriello over the year, but Mike Ilitch gets the dollar-dollar-bill-ya'll treatment here.

Get about 10 million friends and it'll be an accurate representation of the coin he made at the Classic.

Cheer The Anthem found this St. Louis Blues Foul. We've seen similar ones in Tampa Bay, and it's a sneaky way to market yourself. Either that or this was court-mandated. One of the two.

Reader Michael Carriere brings us this bag of haggis from the San Jose Sharks:

Leaving the San Jose Sharks vs. Los Angeles Kings game on November 27, 2013, I sighted these 'Kilted Cuz.' The two wore matching kilts and socks with their custom Sharks sweaters.

We encourage the wearing of kilts with any hockey sweater. But please, just pick a good Scottish name instead of buying a Foul. There's, like, at least a few McKenzies and a MacArthur, right?

Via Jennifer Larson, New Jersey Devils fans are still a little bitter about Ilya Kovalchuk.

But at least a few have a sense of humor about it. Down with Kovy! Up with Deb Placey! Via @jacquin17: "Hmmmm. While I admire any destruction of a Kovy jersey, and certainly 'admire deb,' this one may be a Foul."

Obviously Mrs. Brodeur doesn't believe in an equal partnership, or else she wouldn't be one over Marty. (Via Jpviggen).

Reader Alvin Burk writes:

"Here's a jersey foul from the Frozen Fury game in Las Vegas (Kings vs. Rangers). Should we be scared that he walks among us?"

No, according to the total math of her jersey. Unless the Mark of the Beast is 666666666. (Sleeves, people, sleeves.)

And finally ...

Via Brad Hewton:

"Saw this at a Leafs/Sens game last season in Ottawa. I am pretty sure it's a reference to the Mark Bell hit of awesomeness years ago but still an odd one."

A refresher:

Our question: Who signed it?
