Jared Cowen to have player safety hearing for Jussi Jokinen head shot

Ottawa’s Jared Cowen completely nailed Florida’s Jussi Jokinen on Saturday night in the Senators’ 4-1 victory over the Panthers. And now … Cowen will have a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety on Monday.

Cowen was given just two minutes for interference, and Jokinen remained in the game. Looking at the replay, Cowen delivers the check well after Jokinen gets rid of the puck. And he extends out his arm towards Jokinen’s head.

Yeah, you can’t really do that.
