Carl Gunnarsson channels his inner pinball wizard in goal against Nashville

While we don't know if Carl Gunnarsson has seen The Who's "Tommy" he sure did his best pinball wizard act against Nashville on Thursday night. Take a look at this score, which didn't look like a goal at first.

The NHL initiated the review, and this is what it came up with:

"Video review determined that Gunnarsson's shot crossed the Nashville goal line. According to Rule 38.6 "In the event that a video replay shows a goal was scored prior to the play being stopped, the Video Goal Judge will inform the Game Timekeeper and Official Scorer of the time and the amount of playing time left to be reset on the game clock and penalty time clocks (if applicable)." Therefore the game clock is reset to show 7:15 (12:45 elapsed time) and good goal St. Louis."

No matter what the explanation, it's a good goal -- and quite an amazing one at that, but mostly if Gunnarsson was aiming to do that, which is probably unlikely.

'Off one post, off the goal cam, off the other post, nothing but net...'
