Tempers flared at the end of the Boston Bruins’ 7-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

In the last minute, both teams engaged in a brawl with multiple players dropping gloves and squaring off. This finished off one of the more rough n’ tumble games of the 2015-16 season.

The Senators finished the game with 58 penalty minutes and Boston had 52.

In the first period, Bruins forward Brad Marchand flipped Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki with a low check. Later, Borowiecki was thrown to the ice by 6-foot-9 Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara.

Marchand also seem to give a spear to Senators forward Kyle Turris in the third period.

Jimmy Hayes fired a hat trick to lead the Bruins to the much-needed win. Boston had lost three games in a row. On Monday it was announced forward David Krejci is out “month-to-month” with an upper body injury.

The loss dropped the Senators to 4-5-1 in their last 10 games. Ottawa holds the last Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, just one point ahead of the New Jersey Devils with 42 points.

Boston (44 points) kept pace with the Atlantic Division leading Florida Panthers. Florida has 46 points after a win over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.
