Behold the Reading Royals ugly Christmas sweater jerseys (Photo)

It is never, ever too early to start talking and enjoying the holiday season. Just yesterday I -- as I do often -- put on the Belfast Giants' amazing video rendition of Mariah Carey's classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You."

With holiday parties upon us, that means that some of us will be attending "ugly sweater" gatherings. You might remember Michael Del Zotto really capturing the spirit of it during HBO 24/7.

The ECHL's Reading Royals -- they of the spooktacular Halloween jerseys -- are getting involved on Dec. 14 for their game against the Elmira Jackals. Along with their annual Teddy Bear Toss, they'll be sporting these lovely jerseys, designed like your typical holiday sweater. The game-worn versions will available for purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis and individually autographed.

You might remember the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins doing something similar last season; and while they get bonus points because their mascot is sporting a Santa hat in the logo, the Royals beat them out in overall love because the color scheme is perfect for the holidays.

And the reindeer. You can never have enough reindeer.
