Woman loses bet on Packers game, takes stun gun shot from her husband

This story begins, as all good stories do, during a smoke break outside a bar, with plenty of alcohol in the bloodstream.

John and Nicole Grant are husband and wife, united by love but divided by NFL fandom. John loves the Bears, Nicole the Packers. As you may recall, these two teams played each other Monday night. John and Nicole, watching the game at Sidelines Tap in Mayville, Wisconsin and perhaps a bit too hasty in their judgment, decided to make a little wager on the game.

Nicole Grant agreed that if the Packers lost, she'd let her husband use a Taser on her. Well, absent one Aaron Rodgers, the Packers did indeed lose, and John Grant carried through on his side of the bet. As a local news report put it, "The wife said that while the two were smoking cigarettes outside of Sidelines, Grant had used the stun gun twice on her butt and once on her thigh."

And they say romance is dead.

Anyway, somewhere along the way, Mrs. Grant either forgot she made the bet or decided she didn't much care for a good butt-shocking, so she called the police and told them exactly what had happened. The problem for Mrs. Grant was that before the Tasering, she'd sent a text message to her sons informing them of the bet, and that a cell phone video of the Tasering appeared to show Mrs. Grant laughing while the shocks take place. Possibly unrelated fact: police found that Mrs. Grant had a blood alcohol level of .155, while Mr. Grant had a blood alcohol level of .137.

Oh, but it continues. The problem for Mr. Grant is that possession of a Taser is illegal in Wisconsin, which meant John Grant spent Tuesday in Dodge County Circuit Court. If convicted, he could spend six years in prison.

Remember, friends: don't bet anything you're not willing to lose. Like your dignity, your freedom or your properly-functioning central nervous system.
