Jets center Nick Mangold helps police arrest five car burglars

Nick Mangold is an All-Pro center for the New York Jets, and he apparently could be a good lead in a remake of Kojak too.

Last weekend, Mangold was awakened in his north Jersey home about 10 minutes from the team's training facility when his car alarm went off. After finding his garage door open, Mangold then phoned the police with the information about the break-in.

According to TMZ, Mangold's quick work and timely response led to the arrest of the individuals, five total, who were taken into custody not far from Mangold's house. TMZ said there were 40 car burglaries in Mangold's area.

Mangold is one of the comedians of the Jets locker room with a great dry sense of humor. He also has one of the most talked about beards in the NFL. He's also OK when things get serious, as his help with law enforcement showed.
