Green-Ellis honors Patriots owner’s late wife after first touchdown

All season, the New England Patriots have played with "MHK" patches over their hearts to commemorate the memory of the late Myra Kraft, wife of team owner Bob Kraft. On Sunday, Mrs. Kraft received another tribute.

Upon scoring the first touchdown of the AFC championship, New England running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis dropped the ball, looked down to the small patch on his jersey and pointed to the "MHK" letters.

Mrs. Kraft died on July 20, 2011 after a long bout with cancer. She had a special bond with a number of players on the team, including longtime Pats defensive tackle Vince Wilfork. He referred to Myra as "Momma" and spoke lovingly of her at the time of her death:

"Mr. Kraft and I spoke a lot over the years about 'Momma,' and I hurt for him as I know the love he has for her. I will miss her giving me a hug and kiss before every game, but in my heart she will be there. Myra was a wonderful woman. My wife and I cared about her deeply. It goes beyond football. It goes to what matters in life, being able to build relationships and make a difference."

Her memory clearly lives on with players today.
