Mark Cuban's cable network picked up Chris Kaman's bonkers reality show

You know how you have spent your entire life waiting for NBA center Chris Kaman to become the host of his own cable reality television series? Well, good news, sad friend: This is finally your day in the sun!

"Exploring Kaman," the six-episode web series that the veteran 7-footer debuted last fall, will be coming soon to a TV near you, thanks to AXS TV, the cable network owned by Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

Thanks to the new deal, you can no longer watch all six episodes for free online. You can, however, revisit the trailer for the series, which offers a quick overview of the series' focus on firearms, fireworks, fires, friendship and fishing, focusing on the pursuit of a 1,000-pound blue marlin, which seems like a very difficult fish to catch, on account of weighing half a ton:

Evidently, such rich content was just too flavorful for Cubes and company to pass up. Well, either that, or Cuban — whose Mavericks are still pretty light in the center department after letting Tyson Chandler walk, missing out on DeAndre Jordan and trading for Zaza Pachulia — just wanted to make sure he found his way into the good graces of his former employee in case the time comes for the youth-movement-focused Portland Trail Blazers decide to cut bait on the final year of the 33-year-old pivot's salary.

Either way, let's get properly prepared to explore the life and mind of this trebuchet-building hunter/gatherer/short-hook shooter. From the AXS announcement, via TV By the Numbers:

An avid sportsman, Kaman frequently spends the offseason hunting and fishing around the country. However, there’s one trophy he has yet to add to his wall: the blue marlin, sport fishing’s most sought-after treasure. Armed with a yacht full of family and friends, Kaman sails to Central America in search of his prize. But strong personalities, a nasty bout of seasickness, and a general lack of know-how ensure that there is anything but smooth seas ahead.

Throughout the six-week run, the series gives viewers a front-row seat on this one-of-a-kind adventure, as the NBA big man and his buddies catch a 20-pound tuna in Cabo San Lucas; romance local senoritas… with disastrous results; and deal with bruised egos, clogged toilets, and more, as they attempt to reel in a 1,000-pound marlin while keeping their friendship—and sanity—intact. With his witty personality and passion for fishing, Kaman is the perfect guide for this immensely entertaining journey that is as heartfelt as it is hilarious.

"Romancing senoritas," clogged toilets and bruised egos ... on second thought, maybe this is the perfect American show. If Donald Trump isn't already in the episode, can we maybe cut in some old footage of him yelling at Vince McMahon or something? Just to make it fully reflective of our national tenor?

The series begins its six-week run on Wednesday, August 5 at 11 p.m. ET. If you're not sure if you get AXS or where to find it in your cable package, you can find out on AXS's website.
