Tim Hudson beats A's, becomes 15th pitcher with a win against all 30 MLB teams
San Francisco Giants right-hander Tim Hudson entered his start Sunday with 219 career big-league wins. All that winning has brought Hudson to four All-Star games and a World Series ring last season, but there was still one team out there he had yet to vanquish: the Oakland Atlhetics, the franchise he was drafted by back in 1997.
That changed Sunday as the Giants topped the A's 4-3 with Hudson earning the win to become the 15th pitcher to beat all 30 major league teams. He joins a group that includes Hall of Famer Randy Johnson, as well as Barry Zito, A.J. Burnett and Dan Haren.
Hudson wasn't lights-out, going five innings and giving up three runs, but it was enough to get the job done and add another quirky accomplishment next to a number of more significant feats he's achieved during his 17-year career.
“I’m not sure if you’d say it was on my bucket list, but it is a pretty cool thing to be able to say you’ve done,” Hudson said. “I’ve been fortunate enough to play for some really good teams and have a chance to beat all of them right now, so it’s pretty cool. But the most important thing is we won the ballgame today, whether I got the win or not.”

Of course, the first few good teams that Hudson played for were in Oakland, where he pitched from 1999 to 2004. After leaving the A's, Hudson has played in the National League with the Atlanta Braves and the Giants, limiting his opportunities to face Oakland.
Sunday's game was just the third time he pitched against the Athletics and on the first two occasions he was saddled with the loss. The third time really is the charm!
The Giants are on an absolute tear right now. They've won 11 of their last 12 games and are now a game back of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West.
