Happy August, folks. I realize it's not the first of the month, but hey, I was off enjoying a post-trade-deadline weekend. Nonetheless, I still wanted to invite you to The Stew's monthly dinger party, in which we look back at the five longest homer in MLB the previous month.

Topping the list, in fitting fashion, is Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout, who also took over the WAR lead in MLB last month and was named the AL player of the month for July. With Giancarlo Stanton hurt, this month's list had a lot more flexibility too. So you'll notice some new names among the ranks.

2. JUSTIN SMOAK, JULY 1, 473.71 FEET
Yes, he really Smoaked that one. No one has ever used that pun before, I'm sure of it.

3. J.D. MARTINEZ, JULY 21, 466.88 FEET
Into the camera well! What a blast.

4. ALEX RODRIGUEZ, JULY 25, 464.13 FEET
A-Rod can't be stopped, he won't be stopped.

5. LUCAS DUDA, JULY 28, 455.90 FEET
And the Mets just can't be denied at the moment.
