Shane Victorino did the usual bit of buying a thank you ad in the newspaper after being traded from the Philadelphia Phillies to the Los Angeles Dodgers last month. We didn't run a post about it at the time, because let's face it: You've seen one newspaper ad thanking a former group of fans, you've seen them all.
This latest gesture from the Flyin' Hawaiian, though, is pretty unique and cool:

It'd actually be pretty cool if this sparked some sort of competition among traded ballplayers in the future. Today, a billboard. Tomorrow, a skywriter, a direct mailing and/or a paid television program at bar time.
