In fact, it was just last weekend that Price won a PGA Tour Pro-Am event at Walt Disney World's Magnolia Golf Course, beating an impressive cast that included past and present major leagues such as A.J. Pierzynski, Joe Mauer, Carlos Pena, James Shields, Frank Viola and Fred McGriff.
On Wednesday, the 27-year-old left-hander was named the American League Cy Young, edging out 2011 winner Justin Verlander to become the first pitcher in Tampa Bay Rays history to win the award.
But perhaps Price's biggest honor came on Friday. That's when his self-described biggest fan, Parker Cadacio, tweeted him a photo of the personalized M&M's with Price's face painted on them that he received for his 11th birthday party. A party Cadacio describes in a separate tweet as a David Price fanfest.
Among the custom M&M's is one proclaiming, or maybe even confirming, Cadacio as Price's biggest fan. At this point I would have a difficult time arguing against it. Another has their faces painted together based on a photo taken at a recent Rays' game. And to top it all off, the color scheme matches that of the Rays uniforms.
Pretty cool, I'd say.
Or as David Price put it on Twitter when he saw the photo.
