Junior hockey commentator swears on air after messing up team name (VIDEO)

One would probably have to be looking for something to take umbrage at to be offended by the potty-mouthed faux pas committed during Rogers Television's telecast of the Niagara IceDogs-Ottawa 67's OHL game last Sunday. Thus, it's funny and we can skip straight to chuckling about it.

There is no backspace key on live TV, which was unfortunate for former National Hockey League player John Chabot. Right after 67's alternate captain Taylor Fielding scored in the first period, Chabot analyzed a replay and said, "The more they use their speed, and they have, the 67's, the more Owen Sound has been backing off."

A beat later, after realizing Ottawa was not playing the Owen Sound Attack, a four-letter word slipped out. Here's the possibly NSFW clip:

It was just something uttered out of obvious frustration by Chabot. No need for the journalism school lectures. It's a tough job and every broadcaster will say something that he or she regrets, but hopefully laughs off eventually. No one was hurt by it and it's not like it was confusing to the viewers, like when a NBA announcer thought a shot that was an airball was the game-winning basket.
