TSN had some excellent features all week in advance of the Grey Cup, but one of the best was their half-hour feature, "John Candy: True Double Blue." The film took a great look at the legendary Canadian comedian and actor who partnered with Wayne Gretzky and Bruce McNall to buy the Toronto Argonauts, helped them outbid the NFL for Raghib "Rocket" Ismail, helped inspire an incredible Toronto team to the 1991 Grey Cup and helped revitalize the CFL as a whole. There were plenty of illuminating comments from a wide cast of interesting people, including Ismail, Matt Dunigan, Pinball Clemons, Eugene Levy, Martin Short, Jim Belushi, McNall, Gretzky and many more about the unbelievable impact Candy's involvement had on both the Argonauts and the league. Here are some of the best comments from the film, which will be shown again on CTV Sunday (varying times by region).

This is what the whole 2011 CFL season comes down to, one shot at glory for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and B.C. Lions. Who will prevail in the 99th Grey Cup (Sunday, 6 p.m. Eastern, TSN/RDS/America One/ESPN3), which we'll be live-blogging here? To find out, let's continue our Playoff Preview series.

This Grey Cup is an interesting clash of two teams that have undergone substantial turnarounds this season. The Blue Bombers were 4-14 last season, but rallied to a 10-8 record, the first seed in the East Division and eventually a berth in the championship game, while the Lions were solid picks to make it this far at the start of the year, but started 0-5 before getting back on track. Both have plenty of known top-tier stars, such as B.C. quarterback Travis Lulay and Winnipeg defensive end Odell Willis (seen above at practice Saturday), but the championship game's often a time when others beyond the biggest stars step up. As Sandy Annunziata and I outline in this video we shot at B.C. Place Saturday with Yahoo! Sports' Evan Doherty, a lot may depend on the likes of Lions' receiver Arland Bruce, Lions' running back Andrew Harris, Winnipeg defensive lineman Doug Brown and Bombers' quarterback Buck Pierce:

Well, we finally have access to full video documentation of perhaps the most-discussed septuagenarian fight ever, Friday's brawl between two 73-year-old former CFL players which is even starting to overshadow Sunday's Grey Cup. It all went down at the CFL Alumni Legends Luncheon, where former Hamilton Tiger-Cats' defensive tackle Angelo Mosca and former B.C. Lions' quarterback Joe Kapp were put on stage next to each other. Behind them, the alumni association rolled video highlights of the 1963 Grey Cup, and that may not have been the best move; Mosca knocked out star B.C. running back Willie Fleming with a controversial hit in that game, the Tiger-Cats won 21-10 and Kapp has apparently been mad about it since. Here's video of exactly what happened next (warning: there is some audible language some may find objectionable):

Chuvalo Mosca

The septuagenarian fight between former CFL players Angelo Mosca and Joe Kapp Friday is still drawing plenty of attention across the country, and more details are starting to emerge. (Update: Also, TSN now has video, which you can watch here!) Hamilton Tiger-Cats' beat writer par excellence Drew Edwards has some of the best information out there straight from the horse's, er, defensive tackle's, mouth, thanks to landing an interview with Mosca (seen at right above with legendary boxer George Chuvalo in 2008). Here's what the big man had to say:

Grey Cup paradeWe're less than 24 hours away from kickoff for the 99th Grey Cup. A rainy and cold Saturday was reserved for the annual Grey Cup parade and the final preparations for the B.C. Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The players went through a light workout without pads at B.C. Place Stadium. It also offered an opportunity to bring family and friends onto the field.

Here's a look at some of Saturday's festivities.

DiCroce DucapThe McMaster Marauders' 41-38 double overtime win over the Laval Rouge et Or Friday one of the most thrilling Vanier Cup games ever played, and it was just as exciting for the participants as the spectators. Marauders' star receiver Robert Babic, who tied a Vanier Cup record with 12 catches and picked up 135 receiving yards as well as 69 return yards, said his heart was pounding through his chest when the game went to overtime.

"Oh my god, like I've never felt it before," Babic said. "It was unreal."

McMaster receiver/returner Mike DiCroce (seen at right going for a ball against Laval's Maximilien Ducap Kamara), who had seven catches for 102 yards and picked up 42 rushing and returning yards as well, said the most heart-pounding moment for him came at the end of regulation when McMaster had a chance to put the game away, but kicker Tyler Crapigna missed a 30-yard field goal attempt.

"It was beating so fast, especially at the end of regulation when we had a chance to win it," DiCroce said. "Any moment like that's going to get your heartbeat up."

I have to say, I'm more than a little annoyed after reading the story about Winnipeg Blue Bombers DB Jovon Johnson, this year's Most Outstanding Defensive Player, selling his Grey Cup ring because of some misplaced sense of owed compensation.

So let me get this straight J.J.: you didn't feel like you earned it so it was okay to sell it and disrespect everyone who did?

First, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are an organization steeped in rich tradition. Grey Cup championships have been rare and hard to come by — only three since 1910: '66, '89, '07 — which makes Johnson's disrespect and apparent indifference to selling something that is held in such high esteem, even more troubling.

Here's a thought for you J.J.: when the club informed you of your eligibility for a ring OR when the guy from Intergold came down to size your ring finger OR when you were filling out the correct information sheet prior to the rings ordering and engraving, why not get all noble and virtuous and kindly refuse to accept it?

Mosca Kapp

One of the stories getting the most attention around the Grey Cup has nothing to do with any current players, but rather two guys who have each been retired for over 40 years. 73-year-old former B.C. Lions quarterback Joe Kapp and 73-year-old former Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive tackle Angelo Mosca reportedly got into a physical fight at a CFL alumni luncheon Friday. It's not every day you see septuagenarians fighting, but the fight appears to have sprung from the playing careers of the 73-year-old Kapp and the 74-year-old Mosca, specifically an incident that happened 48 years ago in the Grey Cup.

Football players often hold grudges, but it's still remarkable that one has endured all this time. According to reports, the incident started when highlights were shown from the 1963 Grey Cup, where Hamilton beat B.C. 21-10. Following that, the 73-year-old Kapp (seen at right above during a 2010 speech to Boy Scouts in California) picked up a centrepiece from a table and offered it to Mosca (accounts differ on how forcefully he did so), Mosca (seen at left above with the Canadian Title Belt he earned in Maple Leaf Wrestling in 1984) hit Kapp with his cane and punches were thrown.
